Sunny Bank Farm is a spacious 17th century stone farmhouse. Here one can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside so beloved by Wordsworth, Ruskin, Beatrix Potter and Arthur Ransome. It is ideal for extended families or groups of friends and is extremely well equipped for self-catering or, if you prefer, within an easy drive of some outstanding pubs and restaurants.
The location is stunning on the quiet western shore of Coniston Water. There is 400m of private lake shore and a boathouse. You can launch your own boat or hire our rowing boat and Canadian canoe (life jackets included). Wild Cat Island, of Swallows and Amazons fame, is an easy row or paddle just across the lake. Alternatively, have a barbecue in the lovely garden.
Things to do
The farm is one mile south of the village of Torver with its two pubs, a church and a small shop. This is an ideal holiday location in a relatively quiet part of the Lake District National Park. You can explore nearby Lakeland villages, wander on the fells, take a boat out on the lake, mountain-bike in Grizedale Forest, or just relax at home in a cosy environment amidst beautiful scenery.
